Álvaro José García Tejedor

Doctor in Biochemistry and passionate about Computer Science, he has been linked as a professor to the University since 1994 at UCM, UC3M and the University Francisco de Vitoria, where he is now Professor of Artificial Intelligence. For fifteen years he has combined his university profile with his work in Consulting and Software Development companies (Indra and Telefónica Data, among others), involved in more than 20 R+D+i projects mainly in Artificial Intelligence (11 of them in European programs), leading teams and directing development and innovation departments. He has also been external consultant for the European Commission in the 5th and 6th Research Framework Programmes. As a researcher, he started doing mathematical models of biological systems. Now his areas of interest are bio-inspired computing (neurocomputing, evolutionary computing), IA philosophy and serious games. Since 2007 he directs the CEIEC, Research Institute of the UFV for technological innovation with social accent. He has produced several serious games for the transmission of educational and cultural content and the integration of people with intellectual disabilities. He is also a full member of the Spanish Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.
