Doctor in CC. Economics and Business Studies from the University of Oviedo. University Professor in the area of Commercialization and Market Research at the University of Salamanca. He has been Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Salamanca, Director of the Department of Business Administration and Economics and Director of the Doctorate Programme and the Master in Research in Business Administration and Economics at the same university. He served as President of the Economic and Social Council of Castilla y León from 1996 to 2000. His lines of research and publications are focused on electronic marketing, commercial distribution and innovation and entrepreneurship. He has published in international journals such as Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Journal of Retailing, Food Quality and Preference, Meat Science, Journal of Small Business Management, among others. He usually performs consulting activities for companies in sectors such as tourism, entrepreneurship and innovation. He is currently co-director of the Master in International Business, a joint degree of the USAL and NEXT International Business School and vice-president of CIBECEM (Círculo Ibérico de Economía Empresarial), which brings together the business administration departments of the universities of Spain and Portugal on the border.
